3 Web Design Trends for 2017: Web Development Michigan

The design of your company’s website says a lot about your business. Most people will check out your website before buying into your service or product now. They want to see what you’re all about. So, if your website is out of date or broken, people will likely not engage in business with you. Being mobile friendly is also an important aspect, so whatever your website design ends up being, you should make sure it’s mobile friendly as well. We rounded up a few cool design trends that we think are going to be popular and trendy this year to help you out!

1.   Big, Bold Type

Going big and bold is back in style. With the use of mobile phones to surf the web being much more popular, having big and bold type makes it much easier to read on the small screen. Plus, it makes a big statement. If you can sum up what your company is all about in a short and sweet sentence, you can hook the customer in and prompt them to keep looking at your site. It’s simple, people like simple and fast. So, create your main landing page like the site below, maybe add a picture in the background if you’d like, and let the big, bold type catch your viewers!

2.   Using SVGs

SVGs (scalable vector graphics) have a lot of advantages over JPGs or PNGs. These graphics can be manipulated much more easily than either of the latter options. You can scale them up and down without losing the integrity of the image. This comes in handy particularly if you have a responsive web design. Instead of having to produce one JPG that’s sized for mobile and one that is sized for desktop, you can just have one image that scales up and down depending on the screen size the customer is viewing your site on. So make sure to use SVGs on your website and make your life easier!

3.   Bright Colors

Everyone loves bright colors that pop. Place them on top of a white or black background and it’s all you can see, right? So, what better way to get your customers attention than by putting crisp, bright colors on your website. Check out the example below for some inspiration. Makes you hungry, doesn’t it?
